Tanzanite...a thousand times rarer than a diamond!
Tanzanite, now a name known in most households, carries a very unique story compared to most other gemstones. The first tanzanite was found at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in 1967, a mere fourty-eight years ago, unlike most other gemstones that were discovered hundreds of years ago.
Tanzanite is a thousand times rarer than a diamond! It is found in only one place on earth, a small area of about eight square miles in the Merelani Hills of Tanzania. According to geological estimates, there is enough tanzanite in the ground to only last for another 10 years. This may seem like a long time to pick out that special piece for you or your loved ones, but the thing to remember is that, with each passing year, the remaining rough will be less, the mining deeper and costlier, and the color and sizes of rough are not promised, all of which make prices increase.
There is no time better than the present to add tanzanite to your collection. It is a highly valued gemstone that can be passed on and admired by your loved ones for generations to come.
